Pastor Jason Tatterson grew up in Shinnston, WV. He was raised in a coal mining family where hard work and faith were the cornerstones of the home. The Lord began to move on his heart even as a young boy and placed a call to ministry in him even then.
As a teenager he got into more than his share of trouble but even in those years God’s merciful hand protected him. At the age of 19 he joined the military and served with an artillery unit in Desert Storm. During this time God began to draw him back to those things He had taught him as a boy.
Upon his return stateside he began to pursue his soon to be wife, Monica, the love of his life, and the two were married one year later on June 6, 1992. One year later their oldest son Staton was born, followed by their youngest, Kyle, in 1997. Between the birth of Staton and Kyle, in the spring of 1995, God moved the family to Lake County, OH for a job opportunity at Lincoln Electric in Euclid, where Jason worked for 13yrs.
During those years at the factory Jason and his family grew closer and closer to God and served together at the Headlands Baptist Church down the street from their home in the Mentor Headlands.
In February of 2002 Christ gave to Monica and Jason a gift that not only changed them personally forever but also the trajectory of their life as they were baptized in the Holy Spirit. Following this God brought them to Lakeshore Assembly of God where they met Pastor Jim Porostosky who already had a vision to plant churches. In September of 2005 Freedom Assembly launched and God has blessed and provided at every turn.
